Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ExamStudyApp ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use examstudyapp.com and our related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
The Service is intended for users located in the United States. It is not directed to individuals outside the United States, and we do not offer or market it to them.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your email address and password (stored only in hashed form), and any optional profile details you add, such as a phone number.
- Purchase information — when you buy access, our payment processor handles your card details directly; we receive and store a record of the transaction (such as the items, amount, and a payment reference), not your full card number.
- Communications — messages or feedback you send us.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and analytics data — how you interact with the Service, such as pages viewed, features used, referring links, and general device and browser information. We use this in aggregate to understand and improve the Service.
- Approximate location — a general location (such as country or region) derived from your IP address.
- Access logs — your IP address, browser/device (user agent), and the time of sign-up, sign-in, and visits, which we keep for up to 90 days to monitor security and detect unauthorized access.
- Diagnostic and error logs — technical information generated when something goes wrong (such as error details, request information, and performance data), which we use to monitor reliability and fix problems.
- Study activity — your practice sessions, answers, progress, bookmarks, and related learning data, which power your dashboard and adaptive practice.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar local storage to operate the Service. These fall into a few categories:
- Essential — required to sign you in, keep you signed in, protect against fraud and forged requests, and remember in-progress selections (such as a bundle you are building or your free-preview progress). The Service does not work properly without these.
- Preferences — remember your choices, such as your light/dark theme.
- Analytics — help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may break parts of the Service.
How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account.
- Process your purchases and grant the access you bought.
- Send you essential account and transaction emails (such as sign-in links, confirmations, and receipts).
- Send optional reminder emails, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- Understand usage, improve features, and develop new content.
- Monitor, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed:
- Service providers — companies that perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, email delivery, hosting, analytics, and error monitoring. They may only use the information to provide those services to us.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of ExamStudyApp, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Payments
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. Your card details are submitted directly to that processor and are governed by its own privacy policy. We do not store full card numbers.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and storing passwords only in hashed form. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
- Access and update — view and update your profile from your account settings.
- Export and delete — you can download a copy of your personal data and delete your account from your account settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data, subject to records we must retain by law.
- Marketing emails — unsubscribe from reminder emails using the link in any such email or from your profile.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data (such as access, correction, deletion, or objection). To exercise them, contact us at privacy@examstudyapp.com.
Where we operate
We operate the Service from the United States and process information there. The Service is intended for users in the United States only.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated to you.
